War Costs

From Bloomberg News:

Congress has already appropriated more than $400 billion for
military operations in Iraq. Nobel economics laureate Joseph
Stiglitz told Congress's Joint Economic Committee last month that
the war may end up costing the U.S. more than $3 trillion once
all bills associated with the conflict come due.
In addition, at least 3,988 U.S. personnel have died in Iraq
and 29,395 more have been wounded, according to Department of
Defense figures.

Changes

Excursion: I am excited about my upcoming trip to Hong Kong and Thailand in April. Haven't been back to my birthplace since 2000 and I hope to capture some great memories this time.

Inspiration: Finally watched Professor Randy Pausch's last lecture at McConomy auditorium at Carnegie Mellon. Featured on Good Morning America, and Oprah. What a fantastic man, truly inspiring. If his lecture doesn't get you off your ass, then you're hopeless.
If you haven't watched it yet:  http://www.cmu.edu/homepage/multimedia/randy-pausch-lecture.shtml

Entertainment: Been watching Quarterlife, from the guys who produced My So-Called Life. If you haven't watched My So-Called Life (which I assume you haven't since I was about 10 when that was on?) then you won't know. Like that show, give it an episode before passing judgment. It's great writing.

In memoriam: I've finally retired my 3-yr old New Balance sneakers.

R.I.P. "Old" Balance, you will be missed.
